Climbing for a Cause, Celebrating a Legacy

In honour of Ben Line’s 200th anniversary, we are marking this historic milestone with a symbolic journey across Asia Pacific — carrying our flag throughout the region to celebrate our legacy and the strength of our network

In Japan, our team proudly participated in the MtS Adventure Race Japan 2025, raising funds in support of seafarers around the world. Four teams, each consisting of three members, took part in the race. These teams were named after Ben Line vessels: Araby Maid, Benreoch, Benalder, and City of Edinburgh

Race Participation:

Green Dragon Race (9.25 km)
Designed for participants who preferred to walk much of the trail, this route included moderate elevation. Team Araby MaidBenreoch

Black Dragon Race (20.3 km)
Tailored for participants seeking a greater challenge, this route featured increased elevation and encouraged running. Team BenalderCity of Edinburgh

Each team tackled unique challenges — from endurance treks to steep elevation climbs — and together we proudly raised $24,467 for a cause close to our hearts

This effort is part of a greater mission. The Adventure Race Japan 2023 raised US$1.3 million, and for 2025, they are setting even higher with a goal of US$1.7 million

The journey doesn’t stop here. Our next anniversary climb will take place in Indonesia — another meaningful step forward in honouring our enduring legacy and the global community we proudly serve
