Ben Line North America came together in Vancouver, celebrating our legacy, teamwork and shared success at the peak of Grouse Mountain.

 

Standing Tall at Grouse Mountain – Celebrating 200 Years of our Legacy

 

 

To mark Ben Line’s 200th anniversary, our North American team gathered in Vancouver to take on the iconic Grouse Mountain.

 

Twenty-nine colleagues from Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Portland, and Houston came together, with some tackling the legendary Grouse Grind — a 2.5 km climb with over 2,800 steps and 853 metres of elevation gain — and others hiking the scenic BCMC trail.

 

Those not hiking took the gondola to the peak, where we reunited to enjoy spectacular views of Vancouver and its busy harbour. A lumberjack shows and a celebratory lunch at the summit lodge rounded out the day, before we descended together by gondola.

 

 

The event was part of a global series of “summits” inspired by our company’s Scottish heritage and tradition of naming ships after mountains, or “Bens.” While Grouse Mountain isn’t a Ben by name, it offered a fitting challenge and a perfect setting to celebrate our legacy, teamwork, and shared accomplishments.
