Ben Line Japan Climbs Mount Fuji
As part of our 200-year celebrations, Ben Line Japan set out to climb Mount Fuji, Japan’s tallest and most iconic peak.
A group of nine colleagues took on the challenge, including our Country Manager, three members from Marine Agency team, and one each from Liner, IT, Accounting, HR and HSEQ.
We began our climb at 4 a.m. on the Fujinomiya Trail. The conditions were ideal, and we were rewarded with a beautiful sunrise as we made our way up. The climb was tough, especially towards the summit where the air grew thinner and every step seemed harder than the last. But through teamwork and encouragement, we reached the top ahead of schedule, even surprising one of our team with a birthday celebration on the mountain.
Four members, including our Country Manager, went on to the very highest point at 3,776 metres, standing beside the monument marking Japan’s highest peak.
The descent was demanding, with fatigue and rocky ground making every step a test of endurance. Yet by late afternoon we were safely back at the fifth station—exhausted but with an immense sense of achievement.
The experience was a true reminder of what perseverance, teamwork and shared determination can achieve. A fitting way to mark two centuries of Ben Line’s journey.
