Kaiwo Maru Arrives in Vancouver for Ships to Shore Festival
Ben Line Canada served as ship’s agent for the Kaiwo Maru during her Vancouver port call for the Ships to Shore festival.
The Kaiwo Maru, one of the world’s largest tall ships, completed a month-long transpacific voyage from Yokohama before arriving at Garry Point Park, Steveston, Vancouver, British Columbia. The vessel measures 361 feet in length and carries 36 sails spanning 30,000 square feet.
We thank the City of Richmond for entrusting Ben Line Canada with this operation. The call reflects our long-standing engagement with Japanese shipping principals and our ongoing support for vessel owners and operators across the British Columbia coast.
Our Vancouver team provided full port agency services, including pilotage coordination, towage, customs clearance, CFIA formalities, oil spill response arrangements, and grey water logistics.
The Kaiwo Maru last visited Richmond in 2017, when the event attracted approximately 75,000 visitors. A strong public turnout is expected again this weekend.
Welcome back to British Columbia, Kaiwo Maru.
